Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

PRF, or Platelet-Rich Fibrin, is a regenerative treatment that uses the patient’s own blood components to stimulate hair growth and rejuvenate the skin by promoting collagen production and tissue repair.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a ground-breaking treatment for hair stimulation and skin rejuvenation.

PRF celebrates the healing properties of your own blood to deliver remarkable results. When applied to the scalp, PRF stimulates hair follicles, promoting natural hair growth and combating thinning or receding hairlines. Additionally, PRF can work wonders for skin rejuvenation, as the growth factors within the plasma boost collagen production, improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Embrace the transformative benefits of PRF at The Face & Body Clinic, whether you desire luscious locks or a radiant complexion.

How Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) works:

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a revolutionary treatment for hair stimulation and skin rejuvenation that utilises the power of your own blood to trigger both natural hair growth and a more radiant complexion.

The procedure involves drawing a small amount of your blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells. The resulting PRF solution is rich in growth factors that are injected back into the deep layers of the skin or scalp, depending on what your individual goal is.

When treating hair loss and thinning, this process stimulates your hair follicles to promote both qualitative and quantitative hair restoration. When addressing skin rejuvenation, this process engages collagen and elastin production to speed up skin regeneration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’ve heard of PRP – is this different?
A:
Yes. Whilst the principles of PRP and PRF are similar, there are considerable differences. PRF has been proven to be a more effective treatment option as it can release growth factors over time, promoting more long-term regeneration of the skin or hair follicles. It is also delivered at a much deeper level than PRP, resulting in a more focused treatment and efficient results.

Q: What does a PRF treatment feel like?
A: We prioritise client comfort during all of our treatments. A topical anaesthetic is recommended before your PRF treatment to reduce any discomfort.

During your treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn, similar to a routine blood test. You may also experience sensations of pressure or tingling. Whilst pain thresholds differ from client to client, PRF treatments are widely considered a tolerable treatment.

Q: Is there any downtime associated with PRF treatments?
A:
Immediately following your PRF treatment, you will experience some redness, swelling or warm sensation on the skin or scalp but this generally subsides within one to four days post-treatment. Most clients return to their day-to-day activities immediately post-treatment.

Q: How many treatments will I require to see results?
A:
Most clients require three to four PRF treatments to achieve optimal results. Your individual requirements, matched to your unique skin and/or hair concerns and goals, will be discussed during your consultation. We recommend annual maintenance treatments to uphold your results.
